Biography: John Servis was born on October 25, 1958 in Charles Town, WV into a racing family. His father was a jockey, and ran the Jockey Guild, while his uncle Jack Servis was a longtime jock’s agent, as is his cousin, Donna. John tried the job, as well, before working as an assistant to Mark Reid. He earned his license in 1984. He lives with his wife and two sons in Bensalem.

Career Highlights: Trained Champion Smarty Jones winner of the 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness, and second in the Belmont S. Trained multiple stakes winning fillies Jostle and Round Pond, and top two-year-old Rockport Harbor. Scored 1,000th career win in 2007 at Philadelphia Park.
