Swilcan Stables’ Vero Amore put forth a massive effort in Friday’s G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico Race Course. Trained by Butch Reid, the three-year-old daughter of Mineshaft nearly snatched the race with a sweeping move around the far turn, then hung on valiantly to finish second behind multiple stakes winner Stopchargingmaria.Also running a huge race was John Servis and Main Line Racing Stables’ Joint Return, who came on late to finish fourth in the eleven-horse field.
