Thoroughbreds can do any and everything!

Congratulations to all of our Turning For Home alumni for participating in the 2020 & 2021 Thoroughbred Mega-Makeover! Thoroughbreds are truly the most versatile horses of all.  Here are the Turning For Home results and some highlights:

TCA Thoroughbred Makeover

October 12 – October 17, 2021

The Retired Racetrack Project has done a stellar job of raising awareness and creating a supportive community for Thoroughbred Trainers to rely on, and we are proud to be a part of such an inspiring undertaking. We encourage everyone to follow along with each competitor and get to know their stories. Our Partner Farms did an amazing job of putting these teams together, with representatives from many of our farms competing, such as Heather Mason of Dark Horse Farm in Ballston Spa, NY on Donna Quixote and the husband and wife team of Nina and Charlie Lyman from TRRAC at Maui Meadow Farm in West Chester, PA.

Full Gallop Farm always sends out the winning Eventers, and Susan Thomas was back again, this time with Thin Spaces, and our top-pointed TFH team was FGF Gumdrop’s Chicklet and Kaitlin Hartford. The four-year-old baby UTC PA-Bred retired from the Coletti barn proved her versatility and skill by competing in Barrel Racing as well as coming back for the Finale in Eventing.

Kelly Lupton’s Universal Performance horses is always a great source for top Sporthorse trainers, and while she had several horses successfully competing in Show Jumping and Show Hunters, she also had second-place finisher Poised for Action cleaning up in Ranch Work. While he may have been out-cowed at the Finale, Mike Leverett and Poised for Action impressively demonstrated how calm, cool, and collected OTTBs can be while completing Competitive Trail obstacles and AQHA ranch riding patterns.

Parx favorite Printer, claimed many times around the backside, made the Jumping H Farm crowd proud as he rocked the Land Rover Stadium in Dressage. Hannah and Private Party were also crowned Top Youth team for the Elkin, NC Partner Farm’s team.
