California Chrome Arrival Set for Tuesday

Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome is scheduled to arrive at Parx this coming Tuesday at approximately 3PM as he readies for his final preparations before his return to racing on Saturday, September 20th in the $1,000,000 G2 Pennsylvania Derby. Owned by Steve Coburn & Perry Martin, the beautiful chestnut son of Lucky Pulpit has not raced since a defeat in the Belmont Stakes, a defeat that denied him racing immortality as the sports 12th Triple Crown winner. A win here on the 20th would go a long way toward solidifying his bid to become the three year-old champion of 2014. As of this time, his morning schedule for the rest of the week has not been announced.

While Chrome is set to arrive on Tuesday, the post position draw for the Pennsylvania Derby will take place in the track’s Cotillion Room on the first floor on Monday the 15th at approximately 3:45PM. Media is invited to attend.
