NBC Seeking Racehorses in Training for Study

New Bolton Center is seeking sound, actively racing Thoroughbred racehorses that are training and racing at Parx Racing for participation in a revolutionary diagnostic imaging clinical study.
The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of the type and prevalence of findings present in the fetlock of general active racing population of sound, healthy Thoroughbred racehorses using standing robotic CT scans paired with PET.
Within two weeks of placing in the top 50% of a race, selected horses will arrive at New Bolton Center and receive standing robotic CT scans of all 4 fetlocks with the horse sedated. They will then be injected with a radioactive isotope and the PET scan will be performed with the horse sedated. They will remain at New Bolton Center until the isotope has cleared their system, usually by end of day after injection.
