Indian Mills Stock Farm, Roland Aristone

Biography: Although Roland Aristone passed away in June 2008, his Indian Mills Stock Farm is still a leading owner at Parx Racing. The horses are trained by Mr. Aristone’s son, Philip Aristone.
The 300 acres that make up Indian Mills Stock Farm in Marlton, NJ, was purchased by Aristone in 1964 and built from the ground up into a breeding, breaking and training center for Thoroughbred racehorses. One of his best known runners was Bombay Duck, who he purchased as a two-year-old from Spendthrift Farm. After the colt’s second place finish to Foolish Pleasure in the Wood Memorial, he was entered in the 1975 Kentucky Derby and ridden by Aristone’s son, Menotti, setting record early fractions, only to finish off the board. Other stakes winners running under the Indian Mills colors were Real Note, Rocky Reef and Franconette.
