Biography: Dainty Dotsie was another of the “iron mares” who raced at Keystone, winning her debut here by 17 lengths in December of 1976. She won her next six starts before her first defeat in the Gr.III Ashland Stakes at Keeneland. After setting the track record at Penn National for 6 furlongs in her next effort, she finished her three-year-old season with 10 wins from 11 starts. Her biggest win was the Gr.III Vagrancy H. at Aqueduct against What A Summer and Navajo Princess the following year. She was trained by James Cowden, Jr., and owned by James Cowden, Sr.
