81-1 Rich Strike Claims 2nd Biggest Derby Upset in History!
On Saturday, May 7th, in the 148th Kentucky Derby, underdog Rich Strike claims the crown, in a roaring upset with 81-1 odds! Rich Strike was not even able to get a spot in the Derby until Ethereal Road had scratched Friday, the morning before the big race.
Owners Eric Reed and Rick Dawson settled on a random claim last year’s Churchill Downs September, putting down $30,000 each, winning them this year’s Derby.
