2019 Parx Awards Nominee Suggestions

 

Parx Horsemen are invited to hand in their suggestion for the 2019 awards!  Please turn in to the PTHA office before March 1, 2020. You can also download the form here:      ’19 HOY Suggestion Sheet 1

 

 

Annual Parx Racing Horsemen’s Awards

Criteria:

• All categories will have a limit of 8 nominees
• All nominees must have a minimum of 4 starts @ Parx Racing in the calendar year
  (exception is 2yos, see below)
• If a horse has raced with more than one owner or trainer, the owner or trainer to be listed in program shall be the one which made the most money at Parx Racing in the calendar year
• Tiebreakers (in order):
  1. Highest number of wins at Parx Racing in calendar year
  2. Winning percentage at Parx Racing
  3. Total money won at Parx Racing (including PA-Bred money)

 

Awards Criteria:

Male, Female 2-year-olds – Minimum 4 starts @ Parx or 50% of starts @ Parx in calendar year

 

Male, Female 3-year-olds – see above

 

Male, Female Older Horse – see above

 

Winningest Horse of the Year – see above

 

Outstanding Claim of the Year – Must have been claimed @ Parx Racing in the year

 

Claiming Horse of the Year – At least 50% of starts @ Parx Racing in claiming races or starter                             allowance races

 

Horse of the Year – Only nominated horses from each category considered

 

Journeyman & apprentice jockeys – Number of wins @ Parx

 

Trainer “A” Category – Camac Memorial – 151 starts and up, number of wins

 

Trainer “B” Category – 50-150 starts @ Parx Racing, 15 or less stalls,
tie-breakers:

• Percentage of wins @ Parx Racing in calendar year, then
• Number of wins @ Parx Racing in calendar year

 

Owner “A” Category – # of wins @ Parx Racing

 

Owner “B” Category – Minimum 15 starts @ Parx Racing & percentage of wins

 

Special Achievements (horse & person) Committee consisting of Racing Office &                         PTHA to determine one or both for those that have brought fame and recognition to Parx Racing
