“‘Flip’ has been adorable from the first day he arrived. I sent my preferences and the program matched him to me perfectly! He’s pretty much a pet and a trail–actually, a really good trail horse who negotiated all kinds of technical obstacles without raising a hair his first time out. His personality and disposition are fantastic and he is a joy to be around. The chestnut in the one picture is Cloudy and Cold. Both are so sweet when I ride–they wait patiently for me to mount and don’t move a muscle until I ask. Then, they keep one ear turn back to check in with me, as if to say “Am I doing this right?” They are both super people-pleasers and were very easy to transition to recreational use. I have occasional cookouts at my farm with friends and coworkers and Flip and Cloudy are always first at the fence and are so gentle and intuitive with the children–probably not what most people expect from racehorses. These guys are permanent members of the family–I don’t know what I ever did without them. In addition to being fun riding horses, they are super fun just to be around–always doing funny and sweet things. Thoroughbreds make great pets. They have been hard at work the past year digging their own water feature in the back pasture. Flip found a spot near and underground spring and got Cloudy in on the action. They come up to the barn with their hind legs covered in mud from the digging!” -Amy V.
