“It’s wonderful to hear from you and I am very willing to share photos and updates of Evenings End, now known as Nox. I absolutely love him and I think he’s the most amazing horse. I’ve always loved Thoroughbreds and I’ve dreamed of adopting an off-track rescue for years. The day I saw Evenings End on the Turning for Home website, I had to find him. After a little research I found him at the South Jersey Thoroughbred Rescue and drove ten hours to see him, where I adopted him on the spot.

I’ve had Nox for a year and a half now and he is simply the most loyal, big-hearted horse I’ve ever met. He’ll do anything to make me happy and tries so hard to do what I ask of him. I’ve been re-training him slowly, due to his injury (he came off the track with a coffin bone wing fracture), and we’re planning to do hunter/jumper. He is built for the hunter ring – he’s so gorgeous! In his off time, he has a grassy pasture to enjoy the summer days in and a warm stall that he’s tucked into during the winter. Nox is a barn favorite because of his funny, bright personality, and all the little girls love to give him peppermints, rub his tongue when he sticks it out the side of his mouth, and watch him working in the ring. He thrives on the attention and loves to show off for an audience – must be the racehorse in him. Nox is very special and every day I feel so lucky that he is mine. I have a blog where I write stories about our adventure together.” -Star C.
