After the Races

Location: Nottingham, PA

is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that rehabilitates and re-homes retiring Thoroughbred racehorses. Director Bonnie Hutton created After the Races in 2010, and it has quickly grown to a quality retraining facility for off track Thoroughbreds. Bonnie spent many years in her home state of North Carolina competing in hunters and then eventing prior to college. Having worked with racehorses in varying capacities over the years (working with foals and weanlings, breaking yearlings, exercising flat and steeplechase horses, etc.), she grew to love the breed.

All After the Races horses are vetted and evaluated prior to being available for adoption so that they can then put together a rehabilitation plan that fits each individual horse’s needs. As the horse is rehabilitated, they spend time evaluating the horse’s temperament and physical capabilities. With the individual in mind, they then seek to match these wonderful horses to new homes.

After The Races horses have gone on to be show horses, police horses and cherished family pets.
